Seafood contamination.. brought to you by Fukushima

(Shared by Troy Livingston via Facebook)

"Fukushima radiation KILLS 5 MILLION BIRDS ! " as reported by Troy Livingston: ie: more reports from the animals...

Why do I think fukushima is the cause? well other then the fact Fukushima has 3 full meltdowns with 3 full runaway cores about 12 meters into the ground and profusely leaking into the ocean and atmosphere continuously now for all most three years.

The Mutton sea birds migrate so though 5 million birds were killed in New Zealand and Australia does not mean there were poisoned there. The Mutton sea birds migrate to japan where they were likely contaminated. The return journey follows the coast of North America to California, then south-west across the Pacific. Prevailing winds aid their flight for most of the journey but on the final leg, from the central Pacific, the birds battle across south-east winds. They return to their nesting grounds exhausted. see picture below of the Mutton sea bird migration rout. The journey, of about 15,000 km, passes New Zealand and Japan and is completed in only two months.

These bird deaths are just the latest stings of mass deaths being reported around the pacific ocean. The mutton seabird is just another to add to the genocide the nuclear industry is perpetuating.

The new Japanese secrecy laws... thoughts and implications on Radioactive incineration and burial repositories!

[fb snip]
From Janick Magne
You wanna bet that the nuclear waste disposal sites will also become state secrets in Japan?
Currently, NUMO (Nuclear Waste Management Organization of Japan) is preparing a documentary on landfill sites in France, Sweden, Finland, Switzerland, which will released in March.
Since no city or region wants to accommodate the nuclear waste landfill in Japan, the government has decided to settle it and to impose a site that it will decide. Everything suggests that it will remain secret, since the government will now be able to keep it so ...
In the city of Fukushima, the radioactive waste disposal sites (contaminated soil etc.) are already secrets .... as I learned when I was told so when I went myself the cityhall of Fukushima city in late October 2013.

Police grab a man in the visitor’s gallery as he shouts protests against the special secrets bill at the House of Representatives special committee on national security, at the Diet building in Tokyo on Nov. 26. (Mainichi)
Mainichi, Nov. 27, 2013: The ruling coalition’s ramming of a controversial special state secrets bill [...] through the House of Representatives on Nov. 26 has stunned the public. [...] it could discourage citizens as well as journalists from seeking access to such information for fear of harsh punishment, blocking government information from circulating in society [...]
Japan-based Investigative Journalist Jake Adelstein, Nov. 29, 2013: [...] even politicians inside the ruling bloc are saying, “It can’t be denied that another purpose is to muzzle the press, shut up whistleblowers, and ensure that the nuclear disaster at Fukushima ceases to be an embarrassment before the Olympics.” [...] And most tellingly, Masako Mori, the Minister of Justice, has declared that nuclear related information will most likely be a designated secret. For the Abe administration this would be fantastic way to deal with the issue of tons of radiated water leaking  [...] There seems to be no end to stopping the toxic waste leaks there but the new legislation would allow the administration to plug the information leaks permanently. Sea Star Wasting Syndrome. (via FB)

Hard to post something as awful as this. One by one different sea creatures -starfish, sea lions and seals, krill, whales, fish, sea birds... all washing up dead on the pacific coast from Alaska to BC to Washington to California to Chile...
Fukushima leaking billions of gallons of highly radioactive water for nearly three years...Who do we contact to get these starfish tested for radioactive substances that may have accumulated in their tissues? What else could be causing the massive die offs of so many different species of sea life??
Can we fix the damage that has been done?
Is there a solution to the ongoing meltdowns and leakages at Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant? So unbearably sad.
Warning...these are awful, depressing, and graphic. But, it's the reality of what is happening down there.

Expect Fukushima's Radioactive Ocean Plume to Hit the US Next Year

Projections from the paper show the concentration of Cesium-137 in the top 200 meters of the Pacific as it moves east. Figure A is for April 2012, B is April 2014, C is April 2016, and D is April 2021.

That's according to a study from the Center of Excellence for Climate System Science, a mostly Australian research organization, which mapped the radioactive plume’s path through the world’s ocean for the next ten years.

According to the report, “two energetic currents off the Japanese coast—the Kuroshio Current and the Kurushio Extension—are primarily responsible for accelerating the distribution of the radioactive material.

Other eddies and whirlpools will continue the process and direct the radioactive particles disparately westward, the study states.

The radioactive isotopes have been pumping and spilling out of the Fukushima Daiichi plant 24 hrs a day since the nuclear melt-through that occurred in March of 2011 and continue to form an ever-growing radioactive plume in the Pacific Ocean.

As numerous scientists have said for decades the most dangerous of them, like radioactive cesium [Cs-137 and 134], and PU and We all kNOW PU > GE . fish swim through this radioative stew ingesting through the gills and by eating organisms that have already ingested harmfull radioactive isotopes which in turn bio-accumulate up the food chain.
Geiger Counter sales to skyrocket all around the northern Pacific basin: "Here is the truth, like it or not. The leak of radioactive elements from the melted down reactors has completely permeated the entire food chain of the North Pacific. The herring all swim through the very waters off the Fukushima Oceanic wasteland.

All the Salmon, Tuna and other sea life feed on these herring. The herring are all bleeding from sores from the diseases acquired from the radiation. All empirical evidence points to it as being at the source of the massive losses." The reason these 3 types of fish are being focused on are because is Sockeye Salmon and herring both range all across the northern pacific and Bluefin tuna are an even wider-ranging and fast swimming predator which can swim back and forth between Japan and North America easily in a year.

So, not only is a radioactive plume that stays active for thousands of years coming towards us on the sea's currents but it is being brought over to us in concentrated form through bio-accumulation up the food chain even faster. Furthermore our governments refuse to test the fish apparently because the seafood industry knows, just as the GMO industry knows, that testing will undoubtedly return data that will in turn demand action by governments and take a huge bite out of the industry as well as the investors portfolios. Now! with out-nuclear-energy .

Radioactive water is leaking out of this plant as fast as it's leaking in. So, you've got something on the order of 400 tons to maybe even as much as a 1000000 tons of water a day leaking off of the mountains around Fukushima into the basement of this plant. Well, the basement is highly radioactive because the containment has failed and radioactive material is leaking out from the nuclear core into the other buildings. That's being exposed to this clean groundwater and making it extraordinarily radioactive. ... And and even venting radioactive steam into the atmosphere and the problem is going to get worse." The video below with Nobel Prize winning physician Dr. Helen Caldicott breaks down the lies of the nuclear industry including the huge amount of greenhouses gases embedded in the production of the fuel. Her talk focuses how the nuclear industry's by-products effect the health of every living thing. She specifically talks about the horror of the Fukushima nuclear meltdowns that have been completely covered up by the governments and press around the world. Helen is an expert on nuclear radiation and her analysis needs to be shared with everyone.

what would happen in future ice ages, whose sheets would “depress the crust of the earth” far deeper than the lay of the bunker tunnels. Or if earthquakes or water seepage create cracks in the bedrock, future wars wreak destruction on the facility, or the man-made materials crumble through corrosion.

The film questions our morality in leaving a legacy of waste to future children which, in the human timescale, is lethally dangerous forever. It asks, too, how we can effectively even warn or inform these of the danger. What inscribed stone tablet, linguistic, pictorial or other symbol will be devised to convey the threat, what danger sign universally understood over time spans of tens of thousands of years? Water-cooled pools at reactor sites, raise risks, such as from leaks, fires, power disruption through natural disasters or other causes, were not factored in the past when the Nuclear Regulatory Commission gave permits for new reactors or extended existing reactor licenses.

In 2011, after the Fukushima accident, some states brought suit against the commission’s “confidence” tradition in licensing. A federal court last year, siding with the states, removed the NRC’s licensing authority until the environmental impacts of the highly radioactive waste, even and especially in the absence of a repository, have been duly examined and dealt with. Its recently released environmental impact study states the NRC’s continued confidence in a safe solution.

Muttonbird numbers lower: "The Japanese nuclear meltdown may have"

[snip]
Updated at 8:12 am on 30 April 2012

The Japanese nuclear meltdown may have reduced New Zealand's muttonbird population.
A study near Auckland has found a third of the birds, also known as sooty shearwater or titi, failed to return this summer after spending the southern winter in their northern hemisphere base near the crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant.
Department of Conservation researcher Graeme Taylor says the birds that did return were in a poor condition.
A separate study by Ngai Tahu and Te Papa of 30 chicks from the Ti Ti Islands, near Stewart Island, found no trace of radioactive material - making them safe to eat.

TOKYO —
The powerful lower house of the Diet approved a state secrecy bill late Tuesday that imposes stiffer penalties on bureaucrats who leak secrets and journalists who seek them, despite criticism the government is making a heavy-handed effort to hide what it’s doing and suppress press freedom.
The public is concerned because the government won’t say exactly what becomes secret. Critics say the law could allow the government to withhold more information and ultimately undermine Japan’s democracy.
....
The ruling party says the law is needed to encourage the United States and other allies to share national security information with Japan. With the creation of a U.S.-style National Security Council in his office, it is part of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s efforts to strengthen Japan’s role in global security and create a more authoritarian government at home.
“This law is designed to protect the safety of the people,” Abe said, promising to relieve citizens’ concerns through further parliamentary debate.
The bill allows heads of ministries and agencies to classify 23 vaguely worded types of information related to defense, diplomacy, counterintelligence and counterterrorism, almost indefinitely.
Critics say it might sway authorities to withhold more information about nuclear power plants, arguing they could become terrorist targets. Or they warn that officials may refuse to disclose key elements of free trade talks to protect concessions that would make Tokyo or a partner look bad.
....
At a public hearing in Fukushima on Monday, the only one held before the vote, lawyer Hiroyasu Maki said the bill’s definition of secrets is so vague and broad that it could easily be expanded to include radiation data crucial to the evacuation and health of residents in case of another nuclear crisis. Opponents said that Tuesday’s vote despite unanimous opposition by the seven local officials invited to the hearing already shows the Abe government’s high-handed approach.
...
Under the bill, leakers in the government face prison terms of up to 10 years, up from one year now. Journalists who obtain information “inappropriately” or “wrongfully” can get up to five years in prison, prompting criticism that it would make officials more secretive and intimidate the media. Attempted leaks or inappropriate reporting, complicity or solicitation are also considered illegal.
“This is a severe threat on freedom to report in Japan,” said Lawrence Repeta, a law professor at Meiji University in Tokyo. “It appears the Abe administration has decided that they can get a lot of what they want, which is to escape oversight, to decrease transparency in the government by passing a law that grants the government and officials broad authority to designate information as secret.”
Currently, each Japanese ministry has its own rules to protect secrets, including “defense secrets” decided by the Defense Ministry. The proposed legislation would complement a separate bill, also due to be passed this week, to establish a National Security Council that would centralize the chain of command in the office of the prime minister and give him more power.
....
Japanese and foreign journalists, writers, academics and activists have opposed the bill.
According to the result of a government-sponsored “public comment” process in September, 77% of about 90,000 comments opposed the bill, most of them expressing concerns about the possibility of their civil activities being curtailed.
...
Activist Kazuyuki Tokune says his attempts to access information about nuclear power plants may be considered illegal under a broad interpretation of the law.
“I may be arrested some day for my anti-nuclear activity,” Tokune said during a protest against the secrecy bill outside the Prime Minister’s Office. “But that doesn’t stop me.”

Japanese corporation proposes huge lunar power station
SCIENCE 28 NOVEMBER 13 by NICHOLAS TUFNELL

Shimizu

Japanese architectural and engineering firm the Shimizu Corporation has announced its lunar solar power generation concept, dubbed the "Lunar Ring", which it hopes will one day allow for the unlimited use of clean energy, claiming it could continuously send 13,000 terawatts of power back to Earth.

The Moon-based power station will work by initially establishing an array of solar cells that will extend like a belt along the entire 11,000km lunar equator, eventually growing in width from a few kilometres to 400km. Electric power cables will transfer power from the lunar solar cells to transmission facilities, which will be equipped with 20km microwave power antennas designed to transmit power to receiving rectennas with a radio beacon used to ensure accurate transmission. Finally, high-energy-density lasers will be beamed to offshore receiving facilities on Earth.

Abe refuses to modify state secrets protection bill in Upper House

THE ASAHI SHIMBUN
Prime Minister Shinzo Abe defends the state secrets protection bill during an Upper House plenary session on Nov. 27. (Shogo Koshida)
[snip]
Prime Minister Shinzo Abe refused to make concessions on the state secrets protection bill during a heated Upper House session Nov. 27, arguing that there are limits on the public’s right to know.
“It is essential for securing the safety of Japan and the Japanese public to make sure that things that specifically need to be kept secret will not be leaked to those who don’t have to know about them,” the prime minister told the plenary session.
...
The coalition appears set to ram the bill unmodified through the Upper House and make it law before the current Diet session ends on Dec. 6.
...
Opponents of the bill have argued that the ambiguous wording in defining what will be designated state secrets leaves open the possibility of abuse and could undermine the public’s right to know.
The Lower House hosted a hearing on the bill in the prefectural capital of Fukushima on Nov. 25. All seven speakers, including those invited by the ruling parties, expressed opposition to the bill.
The ruling coalition remains negative about having the Upper House host a public hearing on the bill outside Tokyo.
...
But the opposition, including the Democratic Party of Japan, protested and accused the ruling bloc of resorting to heavy-handed tactics to speed up passage of the bill.
On Nov. 27 in the Upper House, Sohei Nihi of the Japanese Communist Party denounced the bill, saying, “A person could be labeled a suspect without even knowing what the secrets are all about.”
Abe indicated that warrants in a case involving leaked secrets would not give a suspect the specifics of the confidential information.
“Warrants may not expressly present everything about the classified secrets in question, but they will say what they are about, like, for example, ‘designated secrets about cryptograms,’” Abe said.

High cardiac arrest cases recorded in Japan after 2011 earthquake

The news might be a stress and affect the occurrence of sudden cardiac arrest, but in this study we did not aim to evaluate the impact of the nuclear accident,” said Drs. Iwami and Kitamura.

Of Course all supposedly caused by stress due to the earthquake , and of course not a word about Cesium-137 released by Fukushima Daiichi and its negative effects on the heart muscle....

Nov 28, 2013Just when you thought that aftershocks from the Great East Japan Earthquake of 2011 are already over, a new study has discovered that cardiac arrests in people ages 75 and older has been on the rise of up to 70 percent after the disaster. Researchers reported in the New England Journal of Medicine that this health-related effect was seen affecting the population of the top three hardest-hit areas of Iwate, Fukushima and Miyagi for more than a month after the incident.Colleagues Dr. Tetsuhisa Kitamura from Osaka University and Dr, Taku Iwami of Kyoto University Health Service told Reuters Health that the said increase is to be expected. “Earthquake was well-known to be one of the risk factors for sudden cardiac arrest and acute coronary syndrome (heart attack),” they said. “However, little is known about the impact of earthquake on these diseases by age and sex, and in this study, showing the differences provides new insights on disaster medicine.”They studied cardiac arrest cases recorded within a 12-week period that occurred outside a hospital using an ambulance-based registry. They checked records from four weeks before and up until eight weeks after March 11 in the years 2005 to 2011. During the period they studied, normal cases would be around 75 cases per week but after the quake, the number of cases spiked to 70 percent as opposed to the week before in the previous years and went even higher the following week of up to a 48 percent increase. The doctors did not include the factor of the nuclear accident in the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant. “The news might be a stress and affect the occurrence of sudden cardiac arrest, but in this study we did not aim to evaluate the impact of the nuclear accident,” said Drs. Iwami and Kitamura.

Cesium-137 and heart consequences:
1. Cs-137 causes heart conduction changes & low cardiac output

2. Radioactive Cesium and Heart Chapter 4: Pathophysiological Characteristics of Effects of Radioactive Cesium on Heart http://fukushimavoice-eng.blogspot.fr/2013/02/radioactive-cesium-and-heart-chapter-4.html

  1. According to Dr.Shuntaro Hida's tweet (by The daily olive news),  recently published Russian lucubration says that Cesium 137 is not slow-acting, but immediately damages the heart muscle. "I came to consider this can be associated with the cause of death of the workman who died of cardiac infarction. He was one of the first workmen who worked at the accident site, and died after 2 days."

4. Yury Bandazhevsky studied effects of cesium-137 on children in Belarus after Chernobyl
  • He found that children with just 20-30 Bq/kg of cesium-137 suffering cardiac arrhythmia (heart not beating properly) and were suffering heart attacks and dying
  • Not a question of cancer or leukemia (although that occurred as well), there were very high rates of heart disease in these children… manifesting heart disease usually only found in old people
  • Heart cells are non replaceable by-and-large
  • Only 1% of heart cells replaced in a year
  • Cesium-137 goes to muscle, so concentrates in muscle tissue of heart
  • It does seem from what people have been telling me in the Fukushima affected area, is they [children] are actually suffering heart attacks
  • Cesium-137′s effects on heart muscle cannot be repaired, heart tissue cannot be repaired
  • These children will suffer their whole life and die young

6.
There are really two problems, both of them extremely serious because of the toxic nature of the radioactive waste materials in nuclear fuel rods, and because of the enormity of the amounts of these wastes in the rods. Each reactor generates hundreds of pounds of super-toxic plutonium-239, strontium-90, cesium-137, and iodine-131 each year. The most toxic and serious of these is plutonium; it has a half-life of 24,000 years, that is only half of its radioactivity is gone after that time. It's "lifetime" - the time that it takes to reduce its radioactivity by 1000 - is 240,000 years. Plutonium is an "alpha" emitter; a microgram of it in your lungs will almost guarantee that you will get lung, bone, or some other internal cancer. Strontium-90 and cesium-137 are gamma and beta emitters which are absorbed in bones and muscles and cause cancer. Iodine-131 is a beta and gamma emitter which is absorbed in the thyroid gland and causes thyroid cancer.
